Another comfortable option is to use the mouse: hold down the Ctrl key whilst moving the scroll wheel of the mouse. You can return to normal size by pressing the Ctrl and 0 keys at the same time.<\/p>\n

Standalone programmes<\/h3>\n

All the most common operating systems include settings for zooming in on the content displayed on the screen.<\/p>\n

Windows 10 and Windows 11: open the Start menu and type \u2018Magnifier\u2019, then press Enter. This opens the magnifying glass, which magnifies the selected area and follows the mouse cursor by default.<\/p>\n

On Apple computers, follow these steps to use the zoom function: Apple menu > System Preferences > Accessibility (or Universal Access) > Zoom.<\/p>\n

Web browser extensions<\/h3>\n

There are extensions for web browsers that allow you to zoom in on the content on the screen and enhance the browser\u2019s existing functionality. For example, there is an extension called Zoom Page available for Chrome, which can be found in the Chrome Web Store<\/a><\/p>\n

This extension allows you to zoom in on the entire page or just the text, as required.<\/p>\n

Using a screen reader<\/h2>\n

A screen reader is a programme that attempts to interpret what is displayed on a computer screen and convey it in other forms \u2013 for example, as sounds or audio commentary. This is primarily an aid for the visually impaired. <\/p>\n
